My buddy has a 99 XJ 4.0 AW4 4WD that we take on the trails. His jeep runs like a clock. No ticks, knocks, misses, leaks, etc.
Whenever we take it to the field and do donuts, burnouts, or floor it for a few seconds, it dies as soon as you let off the gas. It will start back up immediately after it dies.
From what I have gathered, it could be the crank sensor or the TPS. With both of those, people have had a little different symptoms such as hard starts, dying at red lights, etc. but like I said other than this it runs perfect.
Anyone have any input on this problem?

 

I'd take a look at replacing the ******* Sensor. They're known to peg out when doing donuts and burnouts.

There's going to be a lot of situations that could change this.

It only does it when you're doing stupid stuff? I'd say it has something to do with sloshing gas all over the place.

Also, your Jeep needs gasoline. Donuts are bad for it mmkay
