Default only full blast heat

Hey all,

It's like 50 degrees today so i was a bit chilly and put my heat on, now only heat will work.

Just yesterday vent and ac were working on the cold setting, now no matter the setting it is full on heat.

Thanks

By full blast heat do you mean just hot air coming out, or the blower motor is stuck on High?

I bet the linkages to control the HVAC door came apart

By full blast I mean hottest setting, sorry should have clarified.

All other functions work 1-5 blower settings, vent changer. Just the temp **** has no effect

Possibly the heater flap in the box. Try putting it all the way to cold and turning fan to highest level. If you hear the flap change positions in the box, then your actuator for that flap is stripped out. Check out "heater treater" online.

If the heater flap is the problem, you can change between hot and cold but have to crank the fan all the way up to get the desired air/heat.

Awesome, it worked. Had to crank it down and turn it up. Will this always work or will this too eventually fail? That heater treater looked like the way to go if that's the case.

Thanks!

The plastic piece that actuates the flap has already failed, so the ghetto fix should keep working. But be sure to check the linkage cable for the actuator, because it could cause the same symptoms...

Here's the link for the "heater treater."

Okay I finally got around to taking off the motor and I CAN manually move the blend door!

Meaning that the blend door is still in one piece which is good. I tried the hvac controls and it does not move the motor.

Just a bad motor then?

Thanks

I opened up the motor and it does NOT move freely. can I replace the motor itself? the gears move fine independent of the motor
