Default Only defrosters work, and only on setting "4"

I have a 2000 cherokee sport. At first, the blower stopped working on settings 1,2, and 3, and would only blow air when on setting 4. And now, only the defrosters work, regardless of which position I have it on. Any idea if this could be a wire issue or something more? Any help would be awesome.

I'll check it out, thanks. Is the resistor a possible cause of both the issues? What would the vacuum leak cause?

The vacuum leak is what causes the defrost only to blow, I know there should be a vacuum canister behind the bumper on the passenger side, check that. My 99 came unplugged and only defrost would blow, plugged it in and everything worked.

Just checked the vacuum tube, and it seems to be ok. I followed it up to the firewall and I didn't see any cracks or anything that would cause a leak. I also wiggled it and pushed it into the canister a little further, however there is no change in the problem

I found a small tube running from the main vacuum tube through the firewall that has broken, so i'm assuming that is the issue. Is that something I can get to easily from inside the car so I can replace it, or should I try to patch it?

I fixed the vacuum leak, and replaced the resistor. Works great, thank you everyone
