Default one thing after another...

Yes back searching for anwsers,..88 xj 4.0 i6 I was driving to work, went to accelerate from a stop sigh, and IT hesitated and then took off. Now its been over a week, and sometimes it starts up and runs good for the first 5 mins, then acts up.. Some aspects are a flat spot when accelerating slowly under a load that if I hold the throttle there it will stall,..not alot of power as usual unless I mash the pedal down all the way. The idle goes up and down. It smells rich too.. I have changed the fuel filter, the TPS, air filter, and it sounds like the fuel pump moans as usual....Next im thinking the MAP sensor...does anyone have any clues??? oh and Im looking for a cheap set of fuel injectors...PLEASE HELP thanx.

You should give it a full tune up.

Also go over all the hoses, sensors (clean if dirty) , check fluids, fuel pressure check, check for any codes and all that good stuff.

Thats if you already haven't, since it 20 years old.

Fuel injectors- ebay should have a good deal
I remember you said they were shot, so that very well could be your problem. especially if there is a external o ring leak which could cause a vacum leak.

Also how is your throttle body

You should check your cps, which would probably just need to be cleaned.

As for the map and tps you need a voltmeter to check them. check for vacum leaks before you do this.

Even if you fix your problem, you should still go over all of this. It will save you headaches down the road.

Had the same thing happen to mine, it was the little hose between the fuel pump and the sending unit. Over time the fuel ate a little hole in it causing low fuel pressure.
