OME lift
I just got my ome 2" leaf packs and 1.5" ome coils installed the other day and was wondering about some things that I am sure you guys can help with.
#1. The 2" leaf packs are great. Seems to be a true 2" I don't have shocks yet but was wondering if I will need longer brake line? It seems with longer shocks it may end up a little tight when the diff drops.
#2. ome shocks? I've heard good things about them and wanted to know if they are that much better then other brands.
#3. the front coils that were suposed to be +1.5 are only .75 longer then stock. So I re-installed the 1.75 spacers and it ended up great when compared to the rear. total lift from stock of 2.5-3" will this amount require a new track bar? Or any other steering/suspension parts?
#4. drive line vibe. do I need a sye or will shims fix me up?
#5. How much difference should I be getting from the front to rear of the front tires? As of now I measure .5" difference. I know it should be a little in on the toe so that it tracks right but .5" seems a little much. any jeep techs out there that can answere this?

1) You dont need one but it would be nice to have. You can either run an extended rear line or use a drop bracket.
2) OME are nice as well as Bilstein. How much do you want to spend? Look up King Shocks.
3) Again dont need but nice to have. If the axle is not centered you can re drill the hole on the axle end to line it up. Move it over about 3/4".
4) Shims may or may not fix vibes. A transfer case drop will help but only if a SYE and DS are out of the budget.
5) IIRC, part time 4wd calls for 1/4" toe in. Full time 4wd calls for 0 toe in.

I've been running the OME 2" lift (boosted to 2.5" a while ago) for almost 10 years now.
The great thing about the kit is that all the stock equipment will work fine.
If you decide to steer towards off road performance, you can start looking at double shear adjustable track bars, adjustable control arms big tires, bumpstops, body trim and long travel shocks and extended brake lines.
If you plan on running the stock gear, simply purchase the comfort ride shocks and be a happy XJ owner.
Oh...
At 2" of lift a t-case drop really is counter productive. If money is tight there is nothing wrong with a hack and tap setup... but a true short shaft kit and double cardan driveshaft sure run smooth and are inherintly stronger.

As far as brake lines, I would say flex it out and see if you need some. At that height is not always needed. As for shocks. Just go to your local parts store and pick up same Gabriel Ultra shocks for a 93-98 Grand Cherokee (ZJ) V8 Upcountry/Limited. Run about 30$ ea. They are bolt in, just longer than stock XJ shocks. Unless you get into the higher priced Bilstein/King/Fox shocks they are all pretty much the same.
