Default Old Man Emu Lifts

Has anyone installed an ome 3 inch lift. I just did a month ago rearend height was 4 inches front 2 1/2 innches. Dont like the rake. front spring needed a 1 3/4 spacer to get the 2 1/2 lift . Dont they make a true 3 inch lift spring. I have even thought of removing a rear leaf.

Call them and see what they say. Most lifts will give you a bit of a rake, as the rear leaves take a while to settle. Also, manufactures design some lifts to be raked on purpose to compensate for loads in the back of the vehicle.

Throw a bunch of weight in the back, like say 200-300 pounds. Concrete bags, water barrels, whatever. Drive it like this for a few days and see if it helps to break the rear springs in. If not, for sure call them.

dont remove a leaf. give them time to settle. load as much heavy **** in the back as you can and go flex it out in the rear a couple times

shake it back and forth a few hard times for like a min, then retorque your leaf spring plates down, then throw the weight back there.

OME is suppose to have 3 inch coils, go to the bottom of the page on this link and it shows 3 inch heavy duty coils.

I put one on my XJ, and I like the way it rides. It is more tail high than stock, but I had two inch shackles with the stock springs to get it to ride level. I had to take them back off with the Old Man Emu springs. I went camping last weekend. With all the gear in the back with the seat down, it didn,t squat down. You just have to make sure your caster is OK. Mine is about 6 degrees. It is a little stiffer than stock, so the CD player skips more. LOL

Just a question but did you tighten everything down before you set it on the ground? Or did you just snug the bolts up the set it on the ground and then touque them down?
