I'm new to the jeep world so I need some guidance. I have just bought a 95 Cherokee Sport 4wd with the I6 engine. After I got it home, a 75 mile trip on the highway, I found streaks of oil on the otherwise new air filter. The seller claims this is normal for this engine. The engine is stock and has 126k miles. It seems to run well otherwise, although I have not yet pulled the plugs to check their condition. I expect an engine with this much mileage to use oil, but I have always regarded oil percolating into the air filter with great suspicion.

Normal? or should I investigate further?

Thanks

Normal for a jeep...
It's called blow by. Typically caused by worn out piston rings.
Try doing a search for "blow by" there is a ton of information you can find on here. I wouldn't get to stressed out about it.
