Hey got this 87 Cherokee Im finallydone replaceing the RearMainSeal and putting the new oil pan on.I put some oil in the pump around the gears before I put the pan back on but how should I prime the pump before I fire it up! My older buddy friend is tellin me to disconnect the center wire on my cap and crank it over a few times to let the pump prime. Is this a good idea or is their another way of doing it any help would be great. Thanks Again Guys

If you got the pan on, that's about the easiest way to do it. Crank it for about 10 seconds 3 times and then plug the center coil wire back in. Or, you could go nuts and pull the distributor out and prime the pump manually. I just did it the way your friend said.
