oil pressure strange??

Default oil pressure strange??

when i start the ole jeep she runs about 40 pounds,then when she warms up she runs about 23-23 running and about 15-19 idling and its starting to scare me...it has over 300k miles would it be my pump going bad...how hard is this to replace and advice i super appreciated thanks guys

different types as of right now i just did an oil change and i believe i put 5w 40 i think i was running a real heavy weight just for the fact of the high miles....should i run not so thick?
the motor runs like brand new no ticks knocks or anything just dunno whats up with the strange pressure changes

Try to Rotella 15-40, it makes my XJ happy, and it is rather inexpensive!!

Yes, but I don't DD mine. It runs fine in the cold though. You can pick it up at Wal-Mart for cheap...NICE!! I guess that means I'm cheap....oh well!! LOL!!

sometimes you get junk build up in the pick up and it makes pressure funny I added some mystery marvel oil you add it right to oil run it for 2k miles hen change oil and watch out you will be surprised the ***** that comes out

10 lbs of pressure for every 1000 RPM is needed.

If you've got at least that, you're OK.

I would say, based on what you say, your oil is too thick. Wouldn't be a bad idea to follow the mystery oil instruction, you will be surprised by what comes out. I'm in a cold climate and run 5W-30 and it works like a pro.

well as for me and mystery oil my buddy used it on his ranger and it caused his motor to blow(but it was a ford) im just scared to use it because i have so many miles on this thing
whats your guys opinions

What year is it? Mine is a 97 and the sending units are POS. I've had two different ones and I get erratic readings. On a hot day it will have 10psi at idle...sometimes it will have 0...I just don't care anymore. It doesn't knock and I'm tired of buying $30 sensors to only fix if for a month. I run 10w30 and it has 150k on it. Going to 15w40 at next change.

its a 94 and i thought about swappin the sending unit but didnt know if it would help
