I would say, based on what you say, your oil is too thick. Wouldn't be a bad idea to follow the mystery oil instruction, you will be surprised by what comes out. I'm in a cold climate and run 5W-30 and it works like a pro.

What year is it? Mine is a 97 and the sending units are POS. I've had two different ones and I get erratic readings. On a hot day it will have 10psi at idle...sometimes it will have 0...I just don't care anymore. It doesn't knock and I'm tired of buying $30 sensors to only fix if for a month. I run 10w30 and it has 150k on it. Going to 15w40 at next change.
