My 93 XJ 4.0 had the oil pressure sensor damaged while removing the oil filter, it kind of pull the back end of sensor off. 2 replacements later the gauge on the dash shows max oil pressure all the time. One of the 2 was a OEM part from "the chrysler" dealer. Any comments appreciated. . The wire connector looks undamaged so I am not sure wtf is going on.

It sounds like you have been given an oil pressure switch instead of an oil pressure sender. An oil switch is just On/Off whereas a sender has variable reading.
Take a look at these on RockAuto, the senders listed as w/gauge are longer than the switches listed as w/light.

Does your original look longer than the one you currently have fitted?
