Default 0 psi on Oli Pressure Gauge

0 psi on Oli Pressure Gauge when accelerating or at cruising speed, but it bumps up to 20 when I am decelerating. Any ideas? I figured it should be the other way around, and at a much higher psi.

i would get yourself a mechanical guage and make sure what is going on,at least change out sensor. If what you are seeing is correct you are doing damage to your engine.
The first thing you will here is lifters making noise and a possible mis.
I have to ask this question so forgive me,is it low on oil?

the oil pressure sensor is right next to your oil filter, if you got some place to change your oil recently they could have damaged your sensor while changing the filter and it could just be reading wrong, this happend to mine bout a year ago, it would jump up then drop to nothing, but i did get the shop to replace the sensor for free.

No, this just started to occur about two days ago. It is due for an oil change in another 500 miles or so. Forgive my ignorance, but how does a mechanical oil pressure gauge differ from the current one? How do I use it? (I know, I know, "google it")

A mechanical guage is direct reading and does not stop by the pcm on its way to the guage,it is deemed more reliable than the stock guage.

mechanical will show you the true reading of the pressure...some vehicles are equipped with a Dummy guage. which takes very low pressure to make it work....i would remove the connector and ground it out...if the guage pegs and hold..get a new sender. there about 35 bucks...i just bought one after snapping my old on off during a oil change.

Might seem simple, but have you checked the oil level?
If the level is low enough, higher rpm's can suck the pan dry/acceleration can uncover the pickup-either situation can lead to what you see.

Your not the first or.......... well you know. I had a mechanic working for me forget to put any oil in the car after an oil change.
Was going over invoice with customer when I noticed he hadn't put the grade of oil on the work order. His face turned the whitest I think it could go without passing out when I asked him about it. Fortunatly the customer never heard our little conversation or saw him out in the parking lot with his hood up.

i did an oil change on mine today and my pressure is down 2 or 3 bars from the 40 mark on the gauge and when i accelerate the pressure goes back up to the 40 mark and jitters around. i used synthetic oil and this is the first oil change since buying the vehicle a few days ago. i dont really know what the problem with that is
