Hey guys i've sprung a really bad oil leak. It has come in several variations over the past several months. First, i had a leaking valve cover. Then the o-rings on the oil filter housing went out, which have been fixed. Now the oil pressure sending unit is shot. I think that i sealed up the leak at the valve cover and increased the oil pressure that caused the on-the-way-out filter housing and sending unit's to go out.
Now, is the sending unit on the XJ as easy as my YJ? unscrew and replace? it seems to be coming out of where the wires connect, towards the rear of the Jeep. Drips about once per second and leaves big puddles when i park

sweet. autozone has it in stock and put it on hold. Should be fixed this afternoon. I just didn't want to run into a surprise when i started unhooking things, just like it has happened to us all too many times before haha...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Save your receipt (I didn't). That opsu should have a 1yr warranty. Mine from another aftermarket dealer didn't last a yr (I should have listened those in the know here). Just got one from the Chrysler dealer for just over $40.

well im getting it from autozone so they'll put the warranty under my account. They said it comes with a 1yr or i can get a Duralast for $7 more and it comes with a lifetime warranty.....should i get that one instead?
I've found my oem unit to be more "realistic" reading than the aftermarket one (Advance Auto) I had. It would read 60 max then just above 40. Never lower. The oem one has been reading just above 40 max and,so far, just above the first hash mark. That was today where it was 95* here. Be interesting to see what readings you get.

That was easy. It took a whopping 5 minutes to replace, so i went ahead and changed the oil and spark plugs. Oil leak has stopped and she runs great. I am getting normal pressure readings.
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
