If you had spun a bearing you would have rods knocking very badly by now.
Try changing the oil and filter, you may have either gotten some water in the oil or partially collapsed the inside of the filter in some way.
I did knock sludge out of the bottom of the oil pan on a buick I had once and stop up the oil pick up on the bottom of the oil pump.
I hope one of these helps!

Did you overheat at bundy? Could have cracked the head. Research 00/01 0331 head common issue.

I have a fram triple guard oil filter and i didnt over heat the engine but i have been told that the heads cracking is a big problumb on those years. but shouldnt the oil be milky white if i cracked the head? thanks everyone for your help. i will try changing the oil and see if that helps i did hit some ruff trails and bounce around alot. and i got seriously stuck in the mud i had to be pulled out by a loader.

Man, that was quick. All that happened in 1 wheeling trip? You must drive like you stole it.

Wow... Yeah that was fast! Lol

Just for funzies try changing the filter to a more reputable brand. WIX I believe is found at WalMart, or NAPA Gold if you drop by there. FRAM has been known to fail and cause issues

lol it wasnt that fast and i dont drive it that hard. I have wheeled a few times with it and it is my daily driver. I have spent many days in the man cave working on it getting it ready to hit the trails and my wife reminds me of the money i have spent as well. if i had known the head issues that came with the 00/02 years i would of stayed clear of it. i have had several issues that showed themselves after i bought it home and drove it for a while. It is what it is now andd i have to much invested to sell it now. i do have a motor i am working on to replace the original motor but then again there is the money issue lol. in time. Besides i never have drivenn a vehical that i have enjoyed more than my xj.

I also have an 01xj and I gott the same deal with the low pressure. I've suspected cracked head for awhile... there's no coolent in my oil, but a good amount of oil in my coolent. I'm looking at replacing my head and lifters since they're clicking pretty bad. I also been missfireing pretty much all the time now. my whole jeep shakes and the check engine light flashes. (I havn't been driving it that much). I don't like the idea of getting a new engine, but do you all think that would be better? Thanks

Well coolant will eat the lifters main and rod bearings up pretty fast you might want to change those as well you can do that by dropping the oil pan the pistons are pressed on so i am not sure if you have to worry about that end. if i had known about this head prob that came with the 00/01 cherokee i would of stayed away from those years.
