Default Oil pan removal in a 2 wheel drive XJ

I need to replace the oil pan and gasket in my 2 wheel drive XJ and all the posts seem to be about 4 wheelers. Is the process any easier on a 2 wheel drive as in do I need to take the steering stabilizer loose and jack up the transmission(I will take the shocks loose) to get enough clearance? It looks like there will be plenty of room with the starter and exhaust downpipe out of the way and the front axle drooping with the shocks loose. Any advise will be appreciated.

I'm sure u would still have to remove the starter like I did on my 4x4. You may not have to jack it up but If the pan got hung up during removal I would jack it up

The only difference in your 2wd and a 4wd is the possibility of the front driveshaft getting in the way (not likely) and the faux axle not having a chunk (won't be in the way).

i cant remember if it was the differential part of the axle getting in the way when i did mine or if it was just the axle tubes them selves. either way, had to undo the engine mounts and jack it up a tad.

I have a 4x4, but when I did my oilpan/rms it was the axle tube that got in the way. Mind you I am lifted 3inches, i had to jack my jeep up on one side by like an extra inch and bam.

Don't bother lossening the engine mounts or getting a jack under the tranny and in your way. Shocks you might need to with stock height.
