Default Oil Pan Gasket Replacement - what else?

So my oil pan gasket is leaking. Since I'll have to pull the pan, I would like to replace anything else that requires this that might go awry in the future......

Rear main seal is back there and requires the pan dropped....anything else I could or should do while I'm down there?

Are you sure you need to replace it? Have you tried checking the bolts to make sure they haven't come loose? It's not uncommon for oil pan bolts to come loose and allow leaks- tightening them up is free and stops leaks.

But if you do have to replace it, the only thing I can think of would be to clean the oil sump screen. They can get clogged and cause low oil pressure.

i would also change the oil pump while you are there.....use a MELLING standard volume pump.

IF you do replace, make sure to get the felpro 1-piece gasket. Change the front and rear main seals, oil pump since you are there. Maybe check TQ on your main bearing caps.

the front main requires alot more than just taking off the oil pan.....if that isnt leaking...i would skip it.

Definitely getting the 1-piece gasket. I did check the bolts and all (there are a lot!) of them seem tight. It is not a fast leak. I get maybe a drop a day, but I don't like leaving stuff like that to get worse, if I know it's there. Rather OCD in that way.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I will look into the oil pump, and will definitely clean the screen and do the rear main.
