This is the last thing left to fix my truck. I thought it was the rear main seal or the oil pan gasket but after doing both 3 times now (not including the first time before we put the motor in) it can't be either of them. The leak is coming from the back up by the fly wheel, it's the size of a pencil lead. I'm not at all sure what to do here and I really don't want to take it to a shop, but me or my good mechanic friend can't see just where it's coming from
Does any body have any clue of where it could be coming from? It only happens after the truck is started up. Please help, thank you

Clean the motor and run a dye through the oil. You'll be able to see the leak with a flourescent light. You'll need to drive around for a day or 2 with the dye in it to reach the leak if it's not leaking that bad. The worse the leak, the faster it will show up.

I'm not sure ive seen the old seals and they looked brand new. I just gave up and took it to a shop. I've been dealing with this for 2 weeks now and posting was my last ditch effort. I need my truck to get back and forth to school and cabs are expensive. Even after this is fixed I STILL have a few "small" things needed to be done. Thank you VERY much tho, however I don't think it's the valve cover either because that was also replaced before the motor was droped in. I just want to drive her again

Brandon,
Sorry bro but welcome to the Jeep world. It NEVER ends when you own a Jeep unfortunately. I'm sure the shop will do the right job for you. I hope you get it back soon as I'm sure you do as well. Let us know what happened.

Not to thread jack, but how hard is it to do that RMS? Mine is leaking, and it is only going to get worse with time... Right now I'm getting 2 oil changes every 5000 miles...

Check this link out. This guy has a 1995 like yours and he did write ups on all kinds of stuff on it including the RMS. Hope it helps.

Dragged her over to a shop yesterday and they called me today with the GREAT NEWS! I got screwed... The motor that I got has a bad bearing cap and said that I need yet another one... So thanks to Mike that contacted me though CC for the great motor!
Was the motor you got from him remanufactured? Resealed? or just used and running good?
If it was used not resealed and running, and its the last cap where the rms sits, chances are that you damaged the seal surface when you did the rms.
