Default Oil gage

I was wondering what should be the normal oil pressure reading when idle. Forgive me for the bad picture.

That's about 18# if your gauge is correct. Anything over 13# at hot idle is OK.
What are you using for oil weight?

It doesn't change when you rev the engine up?

I'm using 10w 30 right now. I'm doing a oil change this weekend thinking about going with 10w 40 since it go such a hot summer.

Hey what does anyone think about putting additives in your engine during oil changes like Slick 50?

Use only a Wix, Napa Gold or Purolator, or Mopar oil filter when you change oil.

Also, If you want to be sure if the pressure is correct get a mechanical pressure gauge and check the pressure. It's always good to know if it correct if your not positive about it.

I tried it on mine (noisy lifters only when motor is cold). Worked a miracle for about a week, then the noise came back. Does seem to help lifter noise in the 4.0 more often than not from what I read here though.

The slick 50 that was mentioned...well... it does help your money slide right out of your wallet. Didn't Du Pont make them stop using the trade name "teflon" because Du Pont was not thrilled about it being used in motor oil?

Rotella 15w40, Wix or Napa Gold and Restore for two oil changes. See what happens.

I run Rotella more often than not, unless there's a really good sale on something else. I keep it around for my SB Chevy's anyway. Been using the Mopar filter because I got a deal on a case of them. But I'll take your advice and do the next two or three that way with the Restore and see what happens.

WalMart. 090 filter and 15w40 Rotella and a can of Restore for a v-8. Good combo.
