The Mopar M090 filter for the 4.0 is made by Champion Laboratories.

i ran the FL-1A for a long time. I mostly run the Wix these days as i always had good luck with them. Large return holes are always a plus.

Since when is a Mopar filter a rebadged fram filter? I have only ran Mopar filters on my XJ with zero problems. I sure hope they are not frams....

I put a Mopar 090 on my 98 sport last week. Bought it at the Wally Mart for around $6, sitting right beside the Fram OCOD. I dont seem to like it and will prob be replacing it this week. I been havin good luck with Wix here, the Mopar was cheap and just handy at the moment.. lesson learned

It's not a rebadged Fram. It's made for Chrysler to their specs by Champion Labs. I found this out from a buddy at Chryco Engineering.
They're good for normal oil change intervals, not extended ones.

He uses Wix on his vehicles.

The huge deal on filters is a good anti-drainback valve. Without that, our oil filters drain out when the engine is shut off and we restart the engine with an oil filter full of air.

I have been using the Wix 51515 filter for a few years now with good results. It's the large capacity filter, similar to the Motorcraft FL-1A filter.

Like what everyone says...Stay Away From FRAM. I bought the Fram Xtended Guard thinking it will be good coz i just changed oil with Mobil 1 extended performance...less than 1500miles the FRAM is leaking at the seams!

will try the WIX Part# 51085 next. And i thought the higher end fram was going to be better.

That is how the Frams got the nick-name OCOD. Orange Can Of Death.

All I sell and use is wix, with a cut open display at my work(Oreilly auto) people can't believe how cheap the frame are. The spring in the top and the fact that they have metal centers and caps sells most people. 51085 is the only thing my Xj see's.
