Default oil in the distributor

I have a 87 renix and the other day i took the distributer cap off and there was a little pool of oil.

I did a brief search but couldn't find anything.

What would cause this? bad distributer? is there a bad seal?

Any info is greatly appreciated you guys kick a$$!

Thanks,
Aaron

Do this^^ The 87s were prone to this problem and besides you'll get a new sync generator in the process.

:-D for the lucky ones that live near me I go hands on  LOL btw if its starting to do that keep an eye on it. If it gets bad enough you will get random misfire and will have to pull the distributor.
