Default oil change, level low?

just did an oil change and put in 6 quarts of Rotella T. Its been about 30 minutes, and the oil level is reading ADD more oil. Any ideas? should i run it to get the oil moving around? The drain plug is on.

6 Qts isn't alot, it's the right amount. Check your dip stick. Did the collar on it move? Is the dip stick tube pulling out of the block?

6 quarts is correct with a standard filter.

Try reading the dipstick again a few minutes after running the engine. It should be right on full.

Check the old filter to be sure its gasket didn't stick, if you don't have the old filter crawl underneath and check to be sure its not leaking at the filter. I have seen someone pull off an old filter and the rubber gasket sticks and when the new filter is put on there is a gap alowing oil to leak between the new and old gasket.
