Think how many good used 4.0s would be out there if people hadn't tried to save a buck on oil filters.........

My thing is, when I am employed again, I will pull a 4.0 at the junkyard and build a 5.0 out of it. Don't particularly care if a gram was used

Is that what you end up with if you go .060 over with a stroker?

Idk if you should apply at for a job at Fram.....

.060 is a 4.7 IIRC. The only way to get up around 5.0 is a special crank.

OH, Ok, thanks. When I heard the term "4.7 stroker" I just assumed that, that had the different crank. Maybe that just sounds better than "bored to 4.7". Not for me. I rarely need 1/2 the throttle I have.

Ya custom crank custom pistons. I heard they have reliability problems. I'm debating between 4.6 and 5.0 I like 5.0 cause I have a 5.0 v8 for my mustang. Then I could have two cars same displacement Hahaha.
