Technically a Torsen style diff is a type of limited slip diff, not a locking diff. A locking diff performs like a spool (no diff, zero slip) when locked/engaged. When unlocked/disengaged, a locking diff performs like a open diff. There are numerous types of limited slip diffs and numerous types of locking diffs.

Yep, kinda like that Jeep sticker in the glove box that says "locking" type diff. They both (GM/Jeep) use the word "locking" very loosely.
The GM one just seems to work better in hanging wheel instances…on a side note, as far a trucks and SUVs go, I think the G80 is the best factory installed limited slip. I don't have any experience with vehicles with "OEM selectable lockers"
