Well, it is about time to swap some mounts on my 00 XJ. I want to go with OEM for the motor and trans ( I know about others like brown dog), but I am having difficulty finding them for sale. Does anyone have a link to purchase the OEM mounts? Also, I am seeing lots of motor mounts that are OEM for the TJ for sale and wonder if they will fit. ( a lot of other TJ stuff works, so it seems logical). I know the TJ trans mount is different and will not work. I appreciate the help.

Supposedly the Crown Automotive motor mounts are better quality than the other aftermarket ones, but don't vibrate like Brown Dog or any of the other solid brands. I've gone through quite a number of inferior quality ones, but haven't tried the Crown ones yet. I actually only JUST heard about these recently, so here in a few months when I bust these garbage mounts I just put on, I'll give them a shot.

I like the idea of the Brown Dog style, but I'd rather not deal with the vibes. Been there and done it. Not a fan.

Here's a link to the Crown ones on Quadratec

I saw something about the Crown motor mounts recently myself.
They did look a little stouter in the picture but........

Yeah I'm suspicious, given Crown's reputation for being... not great. At this point, we're just trying to find the least junk parts from China.

Right!

If the TJ motor mounts are the same, there are lots of OEM ones still out there. I called the dealer and the xj mounts were discontinued in 2021….

Well, the Quadratec website says they will fit XJ, TJ, and YJ. The part numbers pull up different on every parts website though. The difference seems to be only the slot in the metal dowel on the TJ mount.

These are the Anchor mounts. They are generally the only aftermarket motor mount out there. A few others do exist, but they seem to have the market mostly cornered. Look at how rough cast these are. All that casting flash still there and the inconsistency in the rubber. Really gives you a warm feeling huh? Now go look at the Crown ones.

I'd be inclined to believe that TJ mounts can fit though. If they do, I'd absolutely want a set of OEM mounts. I'm tired of ripping through these things every 6 months.

Seems about the same as I have been finding. Different part numbers but physically look about the same. I would be inclined to get a set of Duralast from auto-zone for an “aftermarket” brand. If they are gonna tear up lifetime warranty ain’t a bad thing!

Maybe go into the dealer with a cheapo XJ one and compare it with a Mopar TJ one? Or for that matter, have the parts store pull both and compare them there.

Has anyone been able to compare XJ and TJ mounts?

Those mounts are laughably a piece of **** bro ( as you say)

The Rock Auto Mount set I got, trans mount made my XJ sound like a machine gun, rubber was like a ****ing tennis ball when I jumped up & down (after removing it and putting the old one back in)

Luckily (and weirdly), in Australia we have "Mackay" rubber parts, which include XJ hoses, mounts etc

The motor mounts have a solid bond to the metal, like OEM

remember OEM mounts last a long time, like 100k miles.

They dont vibrate, cause they are rubber. I have replaced all other bushes with poly but I dont want driveline vibrations in my cabin

I am happy with the Mackay stuff, costs a bit more than Rock Auto, about $A45 per engine mount and $100 for a trans mount

$US1 = $A1.50

I'll bet all those crappy aftermarket mounts are made in the same factory in a turd world country.

I dont know why people keep putting "stock style" mounts back in when there are much better choices out there. Like this....

Those poly press-ins will have more vibrations, no?

Likely some more.

How much vibration comes from worn out and failed chicom replacement mounts?

I have Brown Dog poly mounts and the only vibration I get is in the winter time when it's really cold out.
