Default OEM Front Rubber Bump Stop

Getting quite angry at this at this point. Ordered from a few different places only to have them all be the same Crown part even though the pictures on the site show me different.

I replacing my Poly bumpstops for oem rubber to hopefully make them a little more forgiving. The problem is every one of them fit loose inside the cup. They don't take much to push them in, and when they are in they wiggle all around and practically fall out on their own.

Dealer wants $80 for these jounces, I laughed and hung up. All I can find is Crown replacements which obviously are not the right fit.

Anyone have any ideas. I don't want to mess around with progressive this or that, only looking for opinions on oem rubber stops.

Thank you.

My 20 year old rubbers stops are floppy in the cup. I always just assumed it was the way they were.

The old oem ones I took off before I put the poly ones on a year ago were tight, I had to fight to get them out. These new ones are loose to the point where one "bump" and they'll just fall right out.

If you read my original post I'm doing away with the Daystar ones. I want the oem rubber ones. I had the Daystar and while they do fit tight they make for a rougher stop than rubber. Thanks for the try!

mine were rotted out, I yanked some less rotted ones out at the junkyard and smuthered some silicon on them and shoved them in the cups on my jeep. They havnt come out yet and it's been about a month. I do a lot of off-road driving and my suspension is saggy and bottoms out every other bump too. Maybe try that.

The cheap in me loves this idea and wants to do it.

The ocd in me won't let that happen unfortunately haha.

I just don't get why the crown ones are loose but oem are not. I'll have to grab a used one from a yard and compare..

The crown replacements were fine for my 99 Cherokee. Run a self-tapper through to hold the bump stop if you are worried about it falling out.

So I got an oem one from the jy, and compared them.

They are exactly the same in every way except the crown one is 1/8 smaller in diameter all the way around, although hard to see. This means the "neck" part that gets pinched in the tower "dimples" is smaller, thus making a loose fit.

1/8" is huge!

I'd demand a refund.

$7.99 a piece, I pay return shipping. I would barely get anything back.

And the fact that I've ordered about 5 different ones and they're all the same, is obviously a prob with Crown's part, and how the took their "oem" measurements.

Write directly to Crown. Include the photos and your measurements. I'll betcha you'll get some kind of response.
