Good morning gents,

I am in the market for a very low mileage Jeep and have found a few. One in particular I want to look at this weekend, but I am worried about a potential odometer rollback. Car fax is clean but there is a large (20k) gap in reported mileage. From the pictures the car really does look brand spankin new, and I mean this thing is immacualte.

A friend of mine said that with a Chrysler DRB a dealer would be able to check for odometer tampering. Is this true? and what kind of codes would it throw? Can I just do the old on/off on/off on/off on/ to get the codes instead?

It's a 2001 jeep Cherokee Sport.

the drb can give you and idea about mileage but not a true reading. when you queiry the module it will ask if it is between ****miles and ****miles . it give you an idea.they didn't sharpen up untill later years when they sored mileage in other modules
