Default odd turn signal issue

So I have a 97 xj sport, right side turn signals function perfectly. drivers side the tail turn and side marker blink fast, the front 2 turn bulbs light up solid and dont blink. I replaced both bulbs in the front to the same result. help?

Two possibilities come to mind. Bad flasher module(15 bucks) and maybe a bad multi function stalk(40-50 bucks). Plus worth checking all your bulbs, fast blinking is built in to indicate a burned out bulb.

I would suspect the multi function stalk. Couple of other posts had the same symptoms and resolved with a stalk replacement.

Replace your blinker fuse first as a easy first try.
I have seen blinkers do weird things because of a bad/corroded fuse.

well upon further inspection, it appears i wasnt looking at my lights correctly the first time and had the running lights on when i was testing the turn signals...the front lights do nothing when not being lit for the running light from the headlight switch

ended up being a bad ground. hit the wire for the turn and for the running light and both lit up with the test light. grounded it to my core support, problem solved
