Odd tick?

So, I have had a knock for ever, but now I have a tick. Sounds like base ball card in a bicycle wheel. I was that it was probably a valve ticking. Don't know.

pull your distributor cap off and grab hold of the rotor and see if it has excessive play back and forth on the shaft. if so its your rotor tip hitting the inside terminals on the cap. just an idea
