Default NV not NP 242

I was suprised to find my transfercase is a NV not NP 242. Or so i am led to beleive since the drain bolts are for hex heads and not conventional sockets. From what minimul information I have gathered from googling, I found out NP changed it's name to NV. Is this correct? any other information I should know about NV products changing from NP?

New Proces -> New Process Gear -> New Venture Gear (and now they're a division of Magna Drivetrain, I think...)

You'll commonly see tcase model numbers prefaced with "NP" and current transmissions (four-digit model numbers) with "NV" - although there are some three-digit transmission model numbers prefaced commonly with "NP" - like the old Dodge NP435 light truck four-speed...

But, NP = NPG = NV = NVG.
