towing with a 01 xj?
I have been wondering how it is to tow with my xj. I have a 17 ft. aluminum fishing boat that is actually pretty heavy. Do you think I should be concerned or should it do just fine? Thanks!

it will depend on condition of engine and gear ratio and of course hitch capacity
but the Jeep Cherokee with 3.73 gears, is able to tow approx 5000lb, so a class III hitch and you will be fine.

If you don't want your rear end to sag ridiculously while towing something that big, I'd go with a load adjusting shock like these: http://www.monroe.com/products/sensa...justshocks.asp
I put a pair on my XJ and love them...
