I'm averaging 20.5 mpg mostly highway driving

The time I got 22mpg I had actually put a couple gallons more after the pump automatically shut off

Getting 20.5 MPG average is a big improvement over your 16.5-17mpg. The new O2 sensors will pay for themselves in no time!

Found a great pic of the O2 Sensor locations for Federal emissions and California.

This might clear up some of the confusion where they are located and why those with cali emissions cant find sensors near the cat on the tubes or at the cat.

Hey Asking....did you find the part numbers and do you have them to share? Haven't seen them on here...can you use the diagram I provided above to indicate which ones are which, such as

1 =
2 =
3 =
4 =

If you could, that would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

Ahhhh man I threw away the boxes I got from napa. They have named "front front" and " front rear" in their computer for the two upstream sensors. Hope that helps

The "front front" means the sensor toward the front of the engine compartment closest to the grill.

And " front rear" being the sensor closest to the firewall.

Bosch numbers for upstream are 13100 for front and 13122 for the rear. Hope this helps a little. I don't know the downstream numbers, I haven't changed those yet.

Thanks guys. It's the downstream in destination 1 (1/2).

Found out now it's not my O2S...i had a new code that said it was the ldp...found the ansewr on this forum. Turns out the stupid vac hose from the ldp that connects to the intake manifold was off! Ive had a dozen people look at it who couldn't figure out why the light was coming on...

Thanks Cherokeeforum!! LOL...

BTW, if anyone needs the service manual for a 2000...i have it in a bunch of pdf's.

Oh well, that was short lived. The CEL came back with a new code, P0432. Runs fine, bad gas mileage, thinking its the O2's like I thought. Or the cats, hopefully not those..that would suck.

Gonna try those now...

I've found tons of conflicting info on Part No's for 2000 Jeep Cherokee (4.0) with cali emissions.

Mostly find from people without a cali emissions that the part no's are, Bosch 13100 and 13138

What I found is the following...

Bosch
13100 - Front and Rear Upstream
13138 - Rear Downstream
15465 - Front Downstream

I got the above info from this link
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1363384,parttype,5132

Can anyone verify which is correct once and for all? This post might make a good reference for those looking for a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance!

I think the general concensus is to replace the upstream sensors first

I did the upstream sensors, I definitely got an increase in MPGs, max I was getting around 16-17 highway, but can now get up to 21.
