Maybe, if you have a nut with the right threads. Of course you need to drill a hole in the post cat tube (I know you knew that). I would think a muffler shop could sell you the correct threaded bung.

I found this thread, I think it should help. All 4 o2 sensors are near the engine!

For those struggling to get wrench access to the downstream front O2 sensor (1/2 O2S) on a 2001 XJ, this little $10 tool from Kragen-O'Reilly made quick work of it:
P/N: W84008 (Offset O2 Sensor Socket)
After struggling to get a wrench on the O2 sensor for almost 90 minutes, this thing made quick work of it. I was done in 5 minutes!!!
Hope this helps someone.
More later...

I also have a cat without an o2 sensor. That doesn't really concern me. I'm more interested in the o2 sensor(s) that I should replace before they go bad and affect my gas mileage. I bought an o1 sensor from napa today for undertone of the cat. The guy didn't ask me if I needed two.
So do I need to replace the two in the banks our the two below the banks?
Edit: and are all the o2 sensors before the cat share the same part number?
