Default nss sensor

ok once in awhile my jeep will shift funny like every outher day and my ces light came on and it said the trs sensor is bad witch is the nss RIGHT?.. and my reverse lights just work once in awhile so is there any way i can by pass it maybe or try to do anything that mite fix it before i spend a few hundred on one

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, no, the TRS (Transmission Range Sensor) is NOT the same thing as the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch). I could be wrong.

The NSS is built into the transmission part called the transmission range sensor. The sensor is located at the base of the manual shaft (the vertical rod that is moved by the shift cable) but it is inside the trans

ok im not shore eathier but i replaced my tps sensor and it is still doing it i eas ganna clean the nss but there is no plug on top to unplug it as far as i can see..but i herd there is a transmission modual i can unplug and shift it manually do you know were that is on a 1997 jeep cherokee

ok i know what your talking about its all one peace on side of thr tranny i guess i have to replace it and see what happens but would any one know what i can try to fix it maybe before i spend money

i got all the bolts off on it but for some reason i cant it to come off the shaft i dont know why i dont want to try to hard and brake something is there anything im sapose to do
