NP242J transfer case chain
Hi all,
Is it save to buy a new chain from eBay? I see prices are much lower than other sources.
they are advertised as Borg Warner Morse chains.
always afraid of counterfeit from eBay and Amazon. But now sure if that applies to these chains.
thanks, Joe

I wouldn't risk it. eBay is full of counterfeit parts and genuine boxes with cheap junk inside. A broken chain inside your transfer case will cost you a lot more than what you saved. Spend the extra money and get it from a known off-road shop or dealer so you know it's real.

thanks, ya the $50.00 I would save isn’t even worth pulling it out again, let alone damage.
i guess I was wondering if anyone had a trusted source there or Amazon.
thanks
That Jeep guy
thanks,
I did see those. Do you have any experience with USA Standard chains? I haven’t seen any feedback on those.
I see many complaints about Crown chains being to tight.
I was looking for Morse or Cloyes when I was directed to eBay. I see Morse was the oe supplier.
I have a couple used ones that aren’t slapping the case. I was looking for a good way to measure these chains. The best I can find is to compare to a new one.
i just did bearings and seals so might as well buy a new chain.
thanks,
Joe
