np231j tcase question
This may be a stupid question but I am doing a motor/trans/tcase swap in my 97 xj. This xj does not ever drive on the road, therefore if something will work, it is going to work. The question is: I have a 92??? tcase that will be replacing the stock 97 tcase. The gearing is 272 for both and the output shafts are identical. The difference is: there is an electrical plug (other than speed sensor) on my 97 tcase, the 92 has a vacuum port where my electrical plug in is. Speedo sensor does not matter as my factory gauges do not work anyway. Will the 92 tcase work with no vacuum hook up? I believe it is to engage the front axles (like my yj) but I am not certain. Any information will be much appreciated!!!
