hey guys just bought a 94 cherokee sport for a big 1500 whoo hooo no rust near perfect body and perfect interior only problem im having is it shifts from 2wd to 4 hi no problem but when i go to shift into 4 lo the shifter wont go back its like stuck at a brick wall when i first got the jeep it went into 4 lo but would pop out when i would put it into gear i checked the fluid it was low so i filled her up i also loosened the linkage to see if i could get it in by hand but still no luck plz help

no one has any ideas oh and it wont go it to the nuetral either

Is the mechanical linkage underneath having a binding problem? Sometimes the pivot end bushing fails and falls out and the linkage can bind as it goes through it's arc.
Crawl under with a good light and check for play, lube never hurts.

no it cant b that i took the linkage off and tried manualy putting it into 4 low and it will not even go into nuetral its like it doesnt exist lol but like i said it has gone into 4 low but just popped out so i put it back into 2wd and when i tried it again a week later and the prob i am having now acured

i dont think its going into 4wd at all cuz my turning radius doesnt change i can spin tires very easy in both 2 and 4wd but it is saying its in 4 hi but it doesnt feel like 4wd is working could the shift for be messed up

Not sounding good. You can get a manual and schematic by goolge search. I think an internal TCase surgery is in the future. Since it poped back out something is forcing the shift fork back internally. Get familiar with the schematic. Sorry but I don't believe a simple fix for this is available. Had to do an NP231 swap out for customers chev truck a few weeks back, that Tcase was dry as a bone and major internal melt down. Auto recyclers was $850 cdn for the replacement on that one.
How is yours for operations in 4wdHi?

mine seams like its not shifting into 4wd ohwell time to rip it apart and rebuild
