Default NP231 vs NP242 mount height comparisons?

Dirt Bound has a really nice NP231 cross member that also acts as a transfer case skid plate. I emailed them wondering why it wouldn't work with my NP242 and they said that it could but the NP242 hangs lower than the NP231. Can anyone confirm this and give me any idea why I can't mount it? The cross member is adjustable for transfer case drops and I don't have nor plan on running one so I was thinking that even if the 242 sits lower the adjustment should allow me to let it work. If it works I would think that it would be a huge upgrade to the stock cross member and transfer case skid plate.

I believe the 242 hangs 3/4" lower than the 231.

Really? I wouldn't think that could cause much of a difference, if it was over 1" I can see. Might have an uneven skid between the two side heights but both flush to the case.

It's enough that when I bolted up a skid row skid, my 242 sat right on it and it caused some pretty significant vibrations and a lot of racket.

Actually after looking at it more, there's a front plate like JCR and DPG that bolts to the stock cross member so I think it's just another belly skid. It has access holes for the tranny mount so I thought it was a full replacement.
