np231 chain swap while in jeep
chain is lose for sure,can hear it. low on juice. anyway crossmember bolts will breck for sure, want to do it in jeep. have seals. no sye just long rubber and shaft. any thoughts? auto trans np231 transfer chase no sye its just my winter ride but need 4x4 in winter

I have pulled the chain and sprockets from under the vehicle at a pick and pull from a chevy to upgrade my 231, it was doable (would have had more room under the xj). Of course I installed it out of the xj as it was a full TC rebuild, but just the chain install should be no problem.
