hey check out this hack n tap set up. for 199.00 you get everything add 20.00 for the drill bit and tap. and i belive 40 for the seal for the OLD 242 case if you have the newer style you dont need it. e-mail them and they will tell you what you need and i think it cost less than the RE kit. since i had a sye drive shaft i just had to buy the yoke, seal, and deill and tap set for my 89 XJ with the 242 t-case it came out to 175.00 with shipping.

From what i found it is a yoke from a 1963-64 Corvette Muncie 4-speed U-bolt yoke. the length has to be cut (machined) down for the older style 242 cases and i think it is the right length for the 96 and up 242-231 cases
i found some more info here.

DONT BUY THIS CORVETTE PART!!! thats the part that does NOT work... like i had said... i found a different thread that said this part did not work... the GoJeep guy was on this other forum and said he was sorry his information that someone else gave him was wrong... the 4 holes are not in the right locations to bolt to a XJ/ZJ shaft...

best bet is to look for a 1/4 ton van with a turbo 350 trans
same splines you just got to get lucky to find one with a CV shaft

I have a local pick-n-pull that dirt cheap. Normally 200 for motor or tranny what ever he's go. I could probaly pick the yoke up for free if I was to find one. He told me $150 a piece of 99 XJ Complete 3.55 axle asembly's. Getting ready to snag those up to replace my 3.07's (tryin to get a little power back after I went with the 265-75-16's)
The same vehicle that has the axles had a nice front ds also, he said $25 on it, so if I can find the right yoke, with al the parts, yoke, ds, drill, and tap I should be under $50
