Exclamation noob question

Quick question.

1993 Cherokee 4x4 Sport 6 cyl

What is the round cylinder looking thing behind the front bumper, passenger side. It appears to be empty, and only one hose is going to it.

What is it and what's it used for?

Thanks!

Thats the vacuum reservoir. If you disconnect it your cruise control wont work and your ac/heat will be stuck on defrost.
