Default noise from alternator side of engine.

I have had this noise for about a week. It sounds very loud by the AC comp. or alternator. I have a new belt on it, and may have accidentally got some power steering fluid on the belt. I called my tech friend and he said it may be a bearing. The sound is very loud and is not noticeable all the time. It does get faster with the rev of the engine. The battery is still charging and the only thing wrong with the AC is it needs to be recharged. I noticed that the pulleys were still operating fine and there seems to be no drag on the belt. Any ideas would be great.

Cool

Take the belt off and turn all the pulleys by hand to feel for the one that is rough or not turning smoothly.

Thanks for the reply. I started it up this morning an the noise was almost gone. I took it to the car wash and sprayed the engine and belt and the noise is gone.I am thinking it may have been the power steering fluid i dripped on the belt last week. I do have a high pitched wine sometimes though. I think that it is not all of the time. I also think it may be a bad bearing too. Thanks.
