Default No Speedo/odo/gauges and no radio/ Update!

This morning i hopped in the jeep, turned the key on and no gauges came up. I have all the cel/air bag lights that come on when you first turn the key, but no voltage, rpm, speedo, odo, ect. The radio also doesnt come on.

I just did a power window conversion, but used the harness from a donor (main and door harness). I wired in my own power and ground source so nothing was plugged into my harness.

I have checked every connection from power distribution to passenger fuse pannel, relay and fuses. I have added a second ground to the radio to check if one came loose, and it didnt help. I have searched but i cannot find anything that has the dash and radio combined, so im stumped. Any help would be awesome.

My buddy had recently gone through a similar issue... there is a 15 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood. It would pop a fuse every time it was replaced...

(said fuse)

$330 later in shop fees they found it was a shorted wire that was traced above the headliner to a bad ground... i haven't read his receipt yet for the exacts about it but thats what his problem was... other results that i have researched have reported faulty air bag modules, or a bad connection to the back side of the cluster

I know its a stupid question but its a mistake I have made. Did you check the 5 amp fuse on the top right of your fuse panel under the steering wheel? There are two fuses for the gauges/ radio. One for the lights, and one for the actual gauges.. I overlooked the second one many times. I also have a renix, so your 97+ may be different.

I am having the same issue. and what he said ^ now I havent gotten down to the root of the problem yet (been 2 weeks) due to such a busy schedule. this is the thread that I started a couple weeks ago. i just have yet to try anything. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/sim...saster-123186/ but that fuse is most likely blown meaning something on that circuit is blown. sorry I couldnt be much more help. if you find out more let me know

Default Fixed!

Well I tore it all down again today and checked every ground, power lead and relay/fuse, and nothing. So I spliced ground into the radio harness, and again nothing. So I spliced a power lead into the radio harness and everything came on. I followed it down to the connections under the driver side of the dash to find it unplugged from the box. Unfortunately, my lunch box hands don't fit in there, so I just left my splice in place and ran it to a constant source with a 15 amp fuse.

Thanks for the input guys!

I know you said you checked every fuse, but I wanted to make sure that included the IOD fuse in the underhood PDC? All the thing you listed are usually out when that fuse goes.
