Default No Spark

Good Afternoon, I own a 93 Jeep Cherokee 2dr. The motor blew up in it so I put another one in out of an 89 2dr Cherokee. I striped the engine to the block and put all the accessories from the 93 engine on the motor and put it in my Jeep. Now to the problem i have no spark.... I've replaced the coil, cap, rotor, distributor, and the CPS and still have no spark. I have power to the distributor but nothing coming out. Please help!!! Thanks in advance.

engine ground strap going from drivers side rear of cylinder head to firewall in good condition? Was distributor installed at correct position timing wise?

If you have replaced your own engine I know this sounds unlikely but we all make mistakes sometime...are you sure of correct wiring on distributor cap?

Yes, how are you checking for spark? Right off the coil? Dizzy could indeed be miswired.

I second the recommendation to test the grounds carefully. The coil actually grounds via some the studs near the dipstick.

ASD relay good? New Mopar CPS?

Ok, I just got home from work and went straight out to the shop and checked a few things. The ground strap seemed to be hooked good but for good measure I pulled it and scraped it down to bare metal and re-installed it. As far as putting the Distributor in there's only two ways it will go all the way in, on and 180 off. And it is on, the other night just to try we flipped it 180 with no change. I double checked my wiring starting in the front with 1-5-3-6-2-4 going clockwise.... Don't really now what else to do...

Hey salad this my seem like a dumb question but whats the ASD relay??.

And once again guys i really appreciate your time

Like this right?

The ASD relay is what the PCM operates if it has a good signal pulse from the CPS. Without it you don't get spakr or fuel. Actually do you have fuel?

Check the points in the distributor maybe the points are soldered. Use the "KISS" rule. "Keep it simple stupid. " hope you figure it out

On a '93 it should be in the power distribution center with the rest of the relays

All the diagrams are wrong. #1 is at 5:00 viewed from the side. Did you use the flex-plate from the 93? (and CPS). Do you hear the fuel pump run a couple secs when you turn the key on? The dizy shaft can go in as many ways as there are teeth. It's drive to the oil pump is the slot...I thought it was off center to only fit one way, not sure there. Cruiser has stuff in my signature that might be helpful on "indexing" it.

I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is on the ASD relay.

Oh...woops! You have fuel....

OK...I guess Crusier posted the gaps in the plate or something the CPS uses to tell the Puter when to spark changed between 90 and 91. I'm at a loss at the moment....I don't know if a 93 will spark if the rotor is indexed wrong or not. I do think the pump is on the ASD relay. ...
