how many places are you going to post this? Ask once please. I responded in the "ask a question" thread.

Well, your in the right place now, asking the right question, in your own thread. You do mean just under the hood? Wonder if you can't get one from the JY that will do it. I've noticed harnesses often have extra business going on that my rig doesn't happen to have. For instance my regular Cherokee harness might have goodies on it that your Laredo uses. I once made a (much simpler), harness to replace a burnt one using the (insulation free), burnt harness as a template. It gave me all the correct lengths and the connector types.

JY is NOT a good answer. most (at least here in CO) have already been crushed. & the 90 laredo harness is a ONE TIME ONLY PIECE so i need to find a 90 cherokee 4.0 auto with AC & anti-lock brakes. the JY i tried has a network & could'nt find 1 in the entire US. other ideas?

you're probably going to have to rewire some of it manually. Why are you replacing it / what's the issue / where are you stuck?. Need info so we can help as best as possible. If it's a small issue perhaps it's not worth replacing the entire harness.
I find it VERY hard to believe that your jeep having A/C and ABS makes it have a different wiring harness than one without. The transmission I can see making a difference. My XJ has no abs or cruise for example, but the wiring is still there for them, they just aren't hooked to anything. Look for a 1990 XJ with auto transmission - harnesses should match yours.
I strongly suggest you pick up a Factory Service Manual for your year. You can usually find them online for a decent price. I bought close to a full set in PDF form off ebay a few years ago for a crazy good price. They're absolutely necessary when tacking anything in depth, especially electrical wiring.

Sounds like somebody might have their wires crossed. (ha ha). Wouldn't think it's that rare. If I was in your shoes I'd listen to Cruiser, one savvy cat. (& Dukie) If you have to add something it will be much easier with the bulk of it in. Also there's Craigs List "wanted" section. I noticed on Ebay sometimes someone is parting something out and they don't list all the parts on the rig..you can "contact seller". And again, my library had stuff that is not in my Haynes. You might find more specific wiring info there.

why do i need a harness? mine is FRIED, a plastic & copper mass from the firewall to the grill. thay's why. the previous owner attempted to repair by jerking almost all the rest of the harness, computers, relays & related pieces. i, as u, was expecting to acquire a 88-90 harness with related components & go from there but they seem to be pretty hard to find, at least anywhere near me in CO. it is in fantastic condition except 4 the harness problem(108K, interior as new, up country package, etc) and i would really like to get it running.

Who told you that your year/model harness was unique? 89 to 90 should be fine. 87 and 88 had the C101 connector on the firewall.

Chrysler/Jeep told me that the harness is unique to that model only. per my previous experiences with factory info. i may have been a little niave to take them at their word. i DO KNOW that the one i have located at a local pay & pull, a 90 equiped with a manuel trans, no AC, & non ABS is mind bogglingly(sic) different. AC & no ABS i can deal with, but integrating the auto computer(i think that is the box on the lower dash pass. side, i think) so mine will shift is a little daunting. i guess i will just search until a come up with a 89/90 harness out of a 4.0 with auto

oh look 2min. search to E-bay.thanks a lot. reasons i won't buy: 1. $150. 2. no specs. no clues (auto, AC, ABS). remember? 3. no warranty. if u would buy that harness & think it would work in my jeep then i don't need any more help from u. if you're so good find me a harness for a 90 cherokee with auto & AC.
