Do you have a tow bar?you could use it or you could use the front and rear axles, but use a tow strap not a chain, tow strap will stretch.

yes for the front go around the front axle as cright between the LCA and UCA mounts if you can loop the strap and have an end on each side of the axle.

As for the rear the only thing you can use is the axle and theres no real good way to do that.

Def. get recovery points when you get back.

another thing we have done with my buddies hummer is take your strap and wrap it around the whole body. to do this you need three old tires, or a worthless paint job. the tires got between the body and strap. imagine a hummer, no recovery points! haha.

First just don't get stuck. If you do, you can pull on the axel in front, NO JERKING, pull evenly and smoothly. the rear is more of a problem, but if you are carefull you can pull on the axel, or maybe the shackles.

Do yourself and everyone else a favor and don't take it out until you get some tow points. Pulling or jerking by the axle is a bad idea for many reasons.

not sure who your going wheeling with but personally i dont like to wheel with people that aren't prepared and don't have recovery points, not to sound like an ***, just saying. it's like having good working 4wd or something, it's just one of those things thats really good to have

If you really must gimp out on not spending much on recovery, get a rear shackle and front C4x4 tow hooks from Rusty's. Less than $100; better safe than sorry.

how hard of a trail is it
I cant believe that the guys you are going with would take you on any thing that you cant be recovered from easily if they are then don't go

for the most part you can use a strap around the axle front or back depending on the direction you need to go strap next to the control arm or leaf spring
stay away from deep mud
