Thanks, this post was very useful and helped me fix my problem. I had taken the head and manifolds off to replace all the freeze plugs. I forgot to reconnect this ground. Every thing worked but I coundn't pass inspection without the ODB scans.

Default Bad OBD Port

I have checked the power at my OBD port and I think I have a bad ground going to it. If I put the negative cable of my multimeter to the body and the power to port 16 I get 14.7 volts. If I put the negative to port 5 or 6 I get no power. Should I cut the ground cable and run my own ground or is there a way to trace the ground?

Set your meter to ohms and check for continuity to a known good ground from the ground port of the OBD connector.

You should have ground on pins 4 and 5, not 6. If you have a test light, use that to check for power. Just seeing voltage can be misleading if there is a dirty connector. Did their reader power up and just not talk to the computer, or not power up at all?

I have 2014 Jeep Trailhawk, V6. ODB Port is out. Tried several readers, nothing. After looking at fuse box details, Fuse F78 is Diagnostic Port, and pulled the fuse, checked with meter, and is blown, could not tell by looking at it that it is blown, going to parts store and hope they have this 10Amp

3 prong fuse.
