No Muffler
Would taking off my muffler and just having exhaust dump from the cat be ok or is there not going to be enough back pressure and could it hurt the engine and affect mph? I have 2000 cherokee sport

i did it on my 96 and it sounded amazing, but a tad loud.... also had a high flow cat. i didnt notice any decreases in anything. it all started when my cat back got ripped off when i was wheeling.... lol

It won't hurt your performance much, if any. But it is loud as heck! I did it with mine for exactly three days, the noise was unbearable. It didn't sound bad per say, just super duper loud, lol. Just get yourself a decent aftermarket muffler and run that for a better sound than the factory junk...

I cut out my muffler ran it like that for a month to loud inside on the freeway
so I added a strait pip were the muffler was it sounds good and not as loud inside

with a cherry bomb glass pack you my as well run a strait pipe like i did
cus the 4.0 just don't have enough egsost presure to need any muffling
