There is just a small "dink" then nothing. It wont turn or anything. I just replaced the ignition switch and the alternator and now it will not start. I almost 100% positive that everything is connected correctly, at least on the alternator. I am going to double check the ignition switch tomorrow and we will see what happens.
Check to make sure all your wire connections at the starter are good and clean. Try starting it.
If it doesn't work...
Give the starter a few good smacks with a hammer. Try starting again.

This got me through a few weeks before I had to buy a starter. That "dink" is probably your starter solenoid trying to engage the starter gear but getting jammed up. Hitting it with a hammer (or an aluminum bat like I use so you don't have to crawl all the way under) usually dislodges whatever is binding the starter allowing it to start properly.

well sure enough the starter is bad. I bought it in April of last year from rock auto.So it should still be covered, hopefully its not too hard to replace it. Also I only know of one or two places that might rebuild starters.

It may be worth the extra scratch to buy it at a local auto parts store just for the warranty.
Then if it goes out you have a local source.

The starter isn't hard to replace at all, I think the worst part is holding it up while you get the bolts started cause its pretty heavy. All it takes to replace it is 2 bolts and 2 wires, but make sure you disconnect the battery first because you are dealing with a main lead straight from the battery.
