Default No heat

Ok so I have a 2000 jeep Cherokee sport my heater will only blow out really hot air for a short amount of time then blows cold/luke warm, if I shut the heater off for let's say 1 minute and turn it back on the heat blows hot for a minute then back to cold. Any suggestions on what could be wrong??? All fluids are good, new thermostat, flushed heater core, both hoses get hot.

Do both hoses stay hot? Are they hot when the heat is not blowing hot?

mine had the same symptoms and it turned out to be the heater core needing flushed. i see you did that already, simply adding my experience. when was the last time you did it? to maintain the skin melting heat, mine seems to need it every 2 years or so.

Was just flushed the other day. Is there any type of specific chemical to flush through it?

Christ Fixx has a great video on YouTube about flushing. Works great.

i used CLR. i’d only use it if you’re confident of the core’s condition. after disconnecting from the system, i flush mine both ways with water, then blow it out with air. pour in the CLR until it fills up the core, go eat lunch or whatever consumes 20-30 minutes. come back and repeat the flush process, then blow it out with air. reconnect to the system and refill the coolant.

CLR is fairly corrosive, don’t use it if you don’t think the core will handle it.
