Default no gauges no bus

I cleaned and checked the dash connection, Changed the cps, and the computer but still no gauges, Any Ideas?

dumb question, but have you checked the fuses?

I just found the problem with my 87.No guages....took dash apart and cleaned all connections put back together no luck.Started pushing on the fuse for the guages and they all started working....corroded fuse.Cleaned fuse and reinstalled.

The odometer reads no bus could that still be the fuse? I rand the dash check by turning on the key and holding the trip reset button and the gauges test fine. I am tearing into it tonight first the fuse then the removing the gauges again and scraping the connectors as read on a couple of forums.

at least you have gauges, if you had the crumby base package like mine, all you would have is a gas gauge and a speedometer and a couple useless lights that dont work.....wish there was a way to change over mine but oh well lol try the fuse thing, i had lots of corroded fuses when i got my xj

You CAN change the gauges to dial ones, Go to a JY and get the whole dash cluster and the 2 senders (oil and temp) and put them in.Look up "SMTIPPIN" he did it and it works great. Here is his PM url...Tj

i swapped mine also. hardest part was finding hte gauge cluster for an 87 (which someone here had and sold me cheaply) very easy job

Just got back inside from checking my fuses, No Go I am going to screww with the dash one more time and then it looks like mod time!

Ive heard of guys having problems with their clock springs going out and as a result the gauge cluster went dead, dose your horn still work? if not clock spring is your problem

Default rock and roll!

Bought a used instrument cluster plugged it in and bammo...Gauges work!
