Evening,

I am new to the forum, and I am only posting to help a friend with his 94 cherokee.

I am big on BMW forums, as I have a couple, and I am very good with cars.

So, here we go.

1994 Cherokee, 4wd, automatic.

We just replaced his coolant temp sensor, fuel pressure regulator, all 6 fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs and distributor cap and rotor with brand new OEM parts.

And we cant get the fuel pump to spit out anything.

And yes, I checked the fuel pump relay and even used one from another car that we know works to no avail. We can hear the fuel pump priming when the key is turned to the on position.

Fuel wont even come out of the pump. Is there anything I missed? Or a random sensor that needs to be replaced to complete some circuit?

Or is it a possibility that his tank is so clogged and/or dirty that it has clogged the new pump instantly?

I appreciate any help or past experiences you can share with me that might lead to a solution. TIA

If you have power to the fuel pump and can hear it prime, but are getting no fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail under the hood, it is very likely that you have a DOA fuel pump out of the box. Happens more than you think. What brand is it? Airtex has a higher than normal DOA rate. I like Bosch fuel pumps.

I think you may end up taking this one back to the parts store you purchased it from.
